Florida lawmakers passed a bill, which bans mandatory COVID-19 vaccinations in the state. The legislation, SB 2006, was passed Thursday and placed a permanent ban on so-called “vaccination passports.”

This came shortly after Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-Fla.) argued that the passports would create “huge privacy issues.”

The Senate’s bill sponsor added, they would hamper efforts to return to normalcy, noting people should not have to provide documentation to certify they are vaccinated just to enter a grocery store or a school.
