A CNN host is under fire over comments seemingly linking supporters of President Trump to terrorism. On Sunday, State of the Union anchor Jake Tapper aired a segment which accused prominent Republican lawmakers of being complicit in political violence.
The segment received backlash from conservatives online who pointed out Tapper has been quick to condemn the protest at the Capitol, but had no such criticism for BLM-backed riots over the summer. They also pointed to the inflammatory nature of Tapper’s remarks, particularly his attempt to link the MAGA movement to white supremacy and even acts of terrorism.

“If there is no accountability and no attempt by the Republican Party to stop these insane lies that have taken root in their party,” Tapper stated, “this is not going to be the end of MAGA terrorism, this will only be the beginning.”
During the segment, Tapper also seemed to call for repression of political speech, saying those who have questioned the 2020 election results should “be held accountable.”
