President Trump has asked those who have recovered from coronavirus to donate their plasma as soon as they can. During Thursday’s roundtable at the American Red Cross headquarters in D.C., the president highlighted the need for plasma donations in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.
We have already treated nearly 50,000 Americans with plasma from recovered Coronavirus patients.

He reported the U.S. has already treated nearly 600,000 people with COVID-19 antibodies, which can be recovered from the plasma.
“We’ve taken bold actions to give Americans access to plasma therapies. The FDA made the treatment available to patients with life-threatening infections beginning in March. We provided $48 million to the Mayo Clinic to support their expanded access program for plasma.” – Donald Trump, 45th President of the United States

Recovered patients can sign up to donate or participate in a vaccine trial at coronavirus.gov.

This comes as leading candidate Moderna recently began moving into to phase three of its study.
