On Thursday, after FBI Director Christopher Wray questioned whether the former president was hit by a bullet when a 20-year-old shooter attempted to kill him during a campaign rally earlier this month, Donald Trump ripped into the agency chief.

“FBI Director Christopher Wray told Congress yesterday that he wasn’t sure if I was hit by shrapnel, glass, or a bullet (the FBI never even checked!), but he was sure that Crooked Joe Biden was physically and cognitively ‘uneventful’ – Wrong!” Trump wrote on Truth Social.
Wray, whose bureau has a notable history of going against the former president and conservatives, claimed that there was doubt regarding the source of the Republican presidential nominee’s ear wound on Wednesday, while fielding questions during a meeting of the House Judiciary Committee.
Meanwhile, social media users chimed in online and emphasized how the FBI director’s suggestion is highly disrespectful to the other three victims who died or were injured during the assassination attempt.
Former fire chief Corey Comperatore, 50, died while shielding his family from bullets, while two others, David Dutch, 57, and James Copenhaver, 74, were immediately taken to a hospital after being hit.
“With respect to former President Trump, there’s some question about whether or not it’s a bullet or shrapnel that hit his ear,” Wray said.
The FBI director had been answering a question from House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan (R-Ohio), who had inquired about the eight bullets fired at the July 13th campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, by gunman Thomas Matthew Crooks.
However, the former president asserted that he was in fact shot in the ear. After firearm experts reviewed the footage and reenacted the scene, they explained that the shooter would have had a perfect kill shot if Trump never moved his head.
“There was no glass, there was no shrapnel. The hospital called it a ‘bullet wound to the ear,’ and that is what it was,” Trump wrote.
This week, Wray also admitted that he has no idea how many possible terrorists have illegally entered the U.S. through the southern border—a piece of information that one would expect the FBI to be familiar with.
“I am increasingly concerned that foreign terrorists could seek to exploit vulnerabilities at our southwest border or at other ports of entry or other aspects of our immigration system to facilitate an attack here in the United States,” Wray said.
“No wonder the once storied FBI has lost the confidence of America!” he continued.
Even though numerous medical doctors and nurses have already concluded that Trump’s ear injury was caused by a bullet, The New York Times reported on Thursday that the FBI is still utilizing taxpayer money to investigate what specifically struck Trump’s ear during the shooting.
“There is absolutely no evidence that it was anything other than a bullet,” said Dr. Ronny Jackson, a former White House physician.
Metal pieces and other debris that were found from the stage area following the incident are being examined by agents of the bureau’s shooting reconstruction team.
