Day one of the Republican National Convention wrapped up with multiple speakers and an appearance by Donald Trump.

Monday’s speakers included Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.), the president of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters Sean O’Brien and Senator Tim Scott (R-S.C.).

One of the speakers, Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin (R-Va.) used his time to say the upcoming November election is a choice between common sense and chaos.

“Friends, could this election be more simple? It’s common sense versus chaos,” Youngkin said. “It’s strength versus weakness. Friends, it’s not just Republicans who see this. It’s Republicans, independents, and lots of Democrats. It’s Americans.”

Additionally, Senator Scott echoed similar sentiments saying this election will decide the fate of the country for the next 40 years.

“This November, we are not deciding simply the fate for the next four years. We’re setting a course for the next 40 years,” he said.

“And there is only, hear me clearly. And there’s only one person who can make that vision a reality. Donald J. Trump,” Scott continued.

There were also some newcomers to the MAGA movement as model Amber Rose delivered remarks calling out mainstream media for their coverage of Trump.

“I’m no politician and I don’t want to be, but I do care about the truth and the truth is that the media has lied to us about Donald Trump,” Rose explained. “I know this because for a long time, I believe those lies. So, I’m here to set the record straight. The first person I knew who supported Donald Trump was my father.”

However, that wasn’t the headline story of Monday’s proceedings as the 45th president made a surprise appearance just two days after surviving an assassination attempt.

Trump was first seen backstage before entering to thunderous cheers before taking a seat next to his running mate Senator J.D. Vance (R-Ohio).
