John Kerry Ridiculed After Suggesting Russia Cut Down On Carbon Emissions To Earn Back Favor During Ukraine War – One America News Network

John Kerry, President Joe Biden’s departing climate czar and one of the most trusted men in Washington, D.C., was mocked this week after implying that if Russia reduced its carbon emissions, the world may “feel better” about the country and its ongoing conflict with Ukraine.

“Russia is one of the largest emitters in the world. If Russia wanted to show good faith, they could go out and announce what their reductions are going to be and make a greater effort to reduce emissions,” 80-year-old Kerry said during a press briefing on Tuesday.

“Maybe that would open up the door for people to feel better about what Russia is choosing to do at this point in time,” he continued.

In 2021, Biden established the Cabinet-level post of climate envoy for Kerry, the 2004 Democrat presidential nominee and former secretary of state under former Democrat President Barack Obama.

However, detractors have ridiculed the former senator from Massachusetts for consistently boarding a private jet while traveling to international climate events and meetings with foreign leaders.

After less than a year on the job, Kerry’s wife’s Gulfstream GIV-SP plane is said to have made 48 trips and released over “300 metric tons of carbon dioxide” into the atmosphere, as opposed to the 4.6 metric tons released by a regular passenger aircraft.

Kerry has also ignored accusations of holding climate-related meetings with controversial leaders, even refusing to refer to Chinese President Xi Jinping as a “dictator” during a Senate hearing in July.

Last year, there was only a 1% increase in global carbon dioxide emissions, and it was mostly due to pollution from China and India.

“I believe that Russia has the ability to be able to make enormous changes in what they really want to do. I mean, if Russia has the ability to wage a war illegally and invade another country, they ought to find the effort to be responsible on the climate issue,” Kerry said.
