Former President Donald Trump’s interview with notable conservative commentator Tucker Carlson will be posted on Wednesday night on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Carlson’s Trump interview comes at the same time as the Republican presidential primary debates that will be aired on Tucker’s former news network.
The 45th president said on Truth Social that his interview with Carlson, which was filmed a few days prior, will run tonight at 9 p.m. The GOP primary debates, which will feature eight of Trump’s Republican opponents, will run from 9 to 11 p.m.
It was suspected by many online users that Carlson and Trump chose the scheduled times to steal viewers away from Tucker’s former network.
“Sparks will fly,” Trump wrote, teasing the interview.
Trump chose not to participate in the GOP debate, asserting his substantial lead over the other primary contenders in national and state surveys.
For months, the former president questioned why he should submit himself to condemnations from other contenders, whom he leads by vast majorities in GOP voter polls.
While the interview is not technically live like the other debates, the decision to post it during the Fox event could be a way for Trump to divert attention away from what might be a key time for his competitors to gain momentum.
However, since Trump’s polling numbers lead by a wide margin and he is expected to be the final GOP nominee, he could also be looking for candidates for vice president in his administration.
