Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene says that she was attacked in restaurant by an “insane” woman who was “completely out of control” on Monday night.
Greene (R-Ga.) said that she was working with her staffers at a restaurant when she was attacked by the woman, while the woman’s adult son yelled at her as well.
The Georgia Republican said that the incident had been caused by the different political stances as well as that they had “no respect” for views who was opposite to their own.
Greene said that she did not even notice the mother and son until they attacked her and started screaming at her, turning “into demons.”
“People used to respect others even if they had different views,” she tweeted out. “but not anymore. Our country is gone.”
Although the congresswoman had made no further comment regarding the incident on Monday night, this would not be the first time that she had been the recipient of threats or violence.
The Republican had previously been the target of Joseph Morelli who had previously made multiple threats against her, for which he was arrested and pled guilty to, early in February.
The congresswoman did not seem to allow the incident impact her. She tweeted Tuesday morning calling for the investigation of Dr. Anthony Fauci. She claimed that there is “blood on his hands” for his “role in the COVID-19 pandemic.”
