Former Secretary of state Mike Pompeo says he wishes the olympic council had done more to move the winter games out of Beijing.

In a radio interview sunday Pompeo talked about the risks those traveling to China for the games face as a result of the nation’s strict laws. He said anyone walking through Tiananmen Square and talking about the tragedy that took place in 1989 could be seen as a threat by the Chinese Communist party.

Pompoe added western countries need to stand up to injustices around the globe.
