A Border Patrol Agent requested to meet with Joe Biden to discuss the implications his vaccine mandate for federal employees will have.
Thirteen-year Border Patrol Agent Roy Cantu warned that Biden’s vaccine mandate for federal employees will exponentially exacerbate the ongoing border crisis. In a National Rifle Association video posted on Monday, Cantu called the mandatory order a political stunt that comes with very real consequences.
The Biden administration required all federal workers to be fully vaccinated by Nov. 22 or face termination. A senior official at the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) said employees who rejected getting the vaccine have been put on notice.
Meanwhile, 79 percent of Border Patrol employees were vaccinated as of Nov. 17. According to Cantu, if those remaining Border Agents are released, every state would become a border state.
“The federal government is demanding that I either undergo a forced vaccination or lose the livelihood that puts food on my family’s table,” said Cantu. “That’s my so-called choice. But this isn’t just about me. The border crisis is worse than you can imagine. And if hundreds, even thousands of Border Patrol agents are terminated, it will impact every single American, including my own family here in the Rio Grande Valley.”
Cantu said his family has already been directly affected. Roy’s wife recounted a recent incident that prompted their entire family to get firearm trained in order to protect themselves.
