First Lady Jill Biden and Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff were sent to Wisconsin to meet with the families of the victims of the deadly Waukesha parade attack.
Biden and Emhoff, along with Surgeon General Vivek Murthy, stopped by Waukesha on Wednesday to speak with victims’ families and first responders. The visit comes as Joe Biden and Kamala Harris have yet to stop by themselves, despite recently appearing at events in various states to promote their legislative agenda.
Jill called last month’s attack, which took six lives and injured dozens, “unthinkable.”
“After this tragedy, it’s impossible not to ask why? But the truth is that there is no logic to this loss,” said the First Lady. “It feels especially unthinkable that it happened at a Christmas parade. All of America mourns with Waukesha.”
She also visited a hospital in Milwaukee to meet with two children injured in last month’s attack and frontline health care workers who helped tend to victims.
