Georgia Senate candidate and former NFL star Herschel Walker said America’s biggest problem is the “wrong people are in office” in Washington, D.C. In a recent interview, he said it’s time to restore integrity in the nation’s capitol by electing responsible officials.
The candidate added, inflation is out of control and America’s national security is at risk amid the loss of public faith in U.S. government. He stressed the recent gubernatorial election in Virginia shows Americans are finally realizing the political system is broken and it needs to be fixed.
“We’re going to lose the freedom that we have fought and died for, so many people have fought and died for those freedoms we have,” Walker stated. “And right now, we’re going to lose it if we don’t put the right people in office. Right now, we can’t have government control, government mandate, government this, government that — we can’t have that. This is not the country that our people died for.”
The Republican, who seeking to unseat Democrat Raphael Warnock in the 2022 midterms, said he’s ready to restore balance and do away with the stigma of race negatively polarizing everyone.
“There shouldn’t be any color in right wrong; there shouldn’t be any color in law, Walker stated. “That’s the reason I said I want to go to Washington because I want to remove that, I want to remove this…whatever color you are there’s no color in what’s right and what’s wrong.”
The Republican also weighed in on Democrat Stacey Abrams second bid for governor of Georgia, while questioning whether she is an ideal candidate that will portray the state faithfully.
“Stacey Abrams had done so much, so many things in the state of Georgia, but there’s some celebrities coming in,” he noted. “But do she represent what Georgia values are?”
Walker concluded, the American people must stand up to government overreach and the abuse of power and say enough is enough.
I’m running for U.S. Senate because I love this country and I love my home state of GEORGIA! https://t.co/MKrqvIQDsl pic.twitter.com/JJoJepwW06
