Joe Biden confirmed he would be speaking with Sen. Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.) in regards to the Build Back Better bill.

During a press conference on Friday, Biden was asked whether the moderate Democrat was on board with passing the trillion-dollar spending bill. With most GOP senators opposing the bill, all 50 Democrat senators must be in favor of it to have a chance in an evenly divided Senate.

Manchin has repeatedly voiced his opposition over his party’s legislation and the Biden administration has continued working to change his mind.

“I’m going to be talking to him in the beginning of the week and I think if you look at what most people are saying, most of the economists are saying, this Build Back Better bill is not going to increase inflation. It will diminish inflation,” said Biden.

Meanwhile, Biden has continued to downplay inflation, calling it a “bump in the road.” In addition, Biden has claimed gas prices are expected to decrease in upcoming months.
