An Ohio congressional candidate endorsed by 45th President Donald Trump is found to have a massive lead over his Democrat opponent. According to a poll by Emerson College and NBC, Republican candidate Mike Carey has an 11 percent lead in a race to replace retired congressman Steve Stivers.

The poll found 50 percent of voters support Carey while only 39 percent support his Democrat opponent Allison Russo. Additionally, almost 60 percent of undecided voters said they are leaning toward Carey while only 40 percent said they may back Russo.

Aside of an endorsement by President Trump, Carey is also backed by House GOP leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.)

“We need a fighter like Mike in Congress to stand up to the Democrats’ socialist agenda and get our country back on track,” stated the California Republican.

The special election in Ohio’s 15th Congressional District is slated for November 2.
