Joe Biden’s White House vowed to work with House Democrats with their investigation into President Trump’s role in the January 6 protest. On Friday, White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki announced the presidential record keepers were ordered to hand over Trump-era documents to the committee.
Trump sent a letter to the National Archives on Friday, in which he asked it not to hand over the records. The 45th president said he wanted to use executive privilege on the records by adding they were subject to attorney-client privilege.
However, Psaki assured Biden did not want to entertain Trump’s request.
As I noted earlier, we’re going to evaluate on a case by case,” she stated. “This is the first tranche of documents and it is also important for people to understand that this is the use executive privilege, which I think you’re asking because people don’t entirely always know exactly what that is. We have been very cooperative with Congress. We will continue to be.”

On September 25, the committee demanded Joe Biden turnover any records of President Trump, his family and top staffers relating to the Capitol breach. Trump warned Biden he would use any legal means necessary to ensure those documents are not given to Democrats in the House.
