President Donald Trump said Joe Biden must leave the White House in disgrace over the Taliban takeover of Afghanistan. In a statement Sunday, the 45th president said there are at least five reasons why Biden must resign now. This includes the surge in COVID-19, the border crisis, the loss of U.S. energy independence along with the crippled U.S. economy.

Trump said Biden’s biggest mistake was in Afghanistan, where U.S.-backed government fell apart after only a brief Taliban offensive. This comes as Biden’s Pentagon has tried to blame the Afghan military for the Taliban takeover of the country after a rushed U.S. withdrawal.
According to reports Sunday, Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin told members of Congress that “you can not buy willpower” while referring to the collapse of the Afghan Army. He said he was “beyond disappointed” that Afghan forces exhibited a “lack of leadership” and had mostly refused to fight the Taliban after U.S. forces left the country.
Meanwhile, critics have said Biden’s officials are trying to shift blame for the Afghan disaster.
“And it just gives you the feeling of abandonment,” stated Omaid Sharifi, founder of Social Charity ‘Art Lords’ in Afghanistan. “You know that the world, the world countries and the world leaders, have a way to always abandon Afghanistan and leave us in this situation because we have been here before as well. And all those memories are coming back, that apparently we don’t deserve a life with dignity.”
According to human rights activists, millions of Afghans are now facing threats of political repression by a hardline Islamist regime while the tragedy of Afghanistan may become just another political talking point in Washington.
