A Zuckerberg-funded group has given nearly $12 million to Democrats for nonpartisan voter education effort purposes. The group known as the Center for Election Innovation and Research, received $69.5 million from Mark Zuckerberg in 2020.
In addition, $12 million of that money went to the nonprofit known as the Michigan Center for Election Law and Administration. The Michigan nonprofit then funneled $11 million to two Democrat aligned companies, Waterfront Strategies and Alper Strategies.
CEIR noted the money provided was used specifically for messaging about election information, which targeted Michigan voters.
“In addition to a statewide messaging campaign, Michigan sent out targeted mailings to engage voters. Active registered voters received information about ways to vote, elections deadlines and how to request a mail ballot, and those who had not yet returned their mail ballot received instructions on how to do so.”
The groups are known to have done work with high-profile Democrats, including the Clintons, Barack Obama and Joe Biden.
