Embattled New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D) could face jail time after one of his accusers filed a criminal complaint against him. The victim, identified as “executive assistant #1,” met with law enforcement in Albany on Thursday before filing the complaint against the Democrat.
During the meeting, she laid out a detailed timeline of events, as well as evidence of multiple incidents of alleged sexual assault she encountered while working for the governor. Albany County sheriff’s officials said they may arrest Cuomo if the allegations are substantiated.
In the meantime, Cuomo’s lawyers responded publicly on Friday to the state attorney general’s damning report on Cuomo’s sexual misconduct, claiming the investigation was conducted in a manner to support a predetermined narrative. In addition, Cuomo has continued to defend his actions stating, “the facts are much different than what has been portrayed.”
