Senior Republican strategist and adviser to Donald Trump Jr., Andy Surabian, insisted government officials have been using COVID-19 to expand their grip on political power. During an interview on Saturday, Surabian said Joe Biden and the Democrats refused to give up the powers they obtained through COVID lockdowns.

He went on to say, “it’s almost been a year and a half of these crazy COVID authoritarian restrictions.”

Surabian added new COVID policies had nothing to do with public health and were purely political.

“If you can’t fight COVID authoritarianism with everything that you have, then we can’t trust you to fight for anything else,” he asserted. “These governors, these Democrats, want to keep our kids masked up in school. They want to keep businesses closed down.”

Surabian went on to say Republicans must take back the House and Senate as well as immediately investigate the handling of COVID-19 by Dr. Anthony Fauci and Democrat officials.
