Joe Biden has continued attempts to connect legal gun ownership to violent crime, although police statistics have yet to support his claims. Last year, the San Francisco Bay Area reported a 35 percent rise in violent crime, while shootings and murders rose 45 percent in New York and 50 percent in Chicago.
Those cities have the strictest gun control laws in the U.S. For comparison, violent crimes in the Republican-controlled city of Miami rose only 13 percent and declined by 11 percent in Oklahoma City, which is also run by Republicans.
Joe Biden’s speech today shows he does not understand the causes of violent crime. He demonstrates it every time he proposes gun control measures to combat crime in cities that have neutered their police forces.

Police say most crime involves illegal guns, which contradicts Biden’s agenda.
“First of all, we need to have a Congress, we need to have elected officials that are not worried about political theatre,” Miami Police Chief Art Acevedo asserted. “To do a myriad of things to help keep firearms in hands, so we need Congress to do its job.”
Overall, violent crime rose an average 35 percent nationwide, which was mostly driven by the influx of illegal firearms through the U.S.-Mexico border.
