Progressive groups have been pulling out all the stops in effort to force moderate Democrat Sen. Kyrsten Sinema (D-Ariz.) to flip on the filibuster. 20 Arizona groups joined a coalition of more than 40 organizations known as Just Democracy to put out ads targeting Sinema.

The $1.5 million television campaign featured two ads that focus on separate issues. One slammed Sinema over her stance on the filibuster, which she and Sen. Joe Manchin have repeatedly said they want to keep.

However, left-wing Democrats have pushed to kill the filibuster in order to easily pass their agenda without GOP support. The other attack ad criticized Sinema for voting against raising the federal minimum wage to $15 an hour.

“Arizona, Kyrsten Sinema is failing us. Instead of voting for a living wage, she chose to hurt those who need help most,” the video announced. “Instead of protecting our democracy with so much at stake…she didn’t even show up.”

The ads will air across Arizona as the Senate gets ready to take up Democrats’ sweeping election reform bill, which Republicans will likely block using the filibuster.
