A progressive district attorney backed by billionaire George Soros has been reelected by a wide margin. On Wednesday, incumbent Larry Krasner said his landslide victory in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania is part of a larger effort to reform America’s criminal justice system.

This comes after a Soros-funded political action committee reportedly spent $90,000 on advertisements for Krasner. On top of that, Soros spent nearly $1.7 million dollars on promoting him back in 2017.

While speaking on Tuesday, challenger Carlos Vega suggested Krasner is unwilling to work with police.

“Look at the murder rates since he took office..last year 499 and if things don’t slow down, we’re going to have 600 murders,” he stated. “So we have to work with the community, work with police, to save our children.”

Last year, with incumbent Krasner as Philadelphia district attorney, homicides rose by 40 percent.
