As the January 6 Capitol breach continues to dominate news headlines, one House member set the record straight by calling out her Democrat colleague for perpetrating dangerous lies about that very day.

In a tweet Tuesday, freshman Congresswoman Nancy Mace (R-S.C.) called out Democrat Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) over recently surfaced comments that detailed how she “feared for her life” when she heard knocks on her office door.

This was before she found out the person knocking was a Capitol police officer.

AOC recounted her story on Instagram live and claimed a mob banged at her door as her aides told her to hide. At this moment, she claimed she thought “everything was over.”

“Like the bathroom door is behind me — rather in front of me,” Cortez said. “And I just hear, ‘where is she? Where is she?’”

However, Nancy Mace said her office is two doors down from AOC’s and no one even made it to their hallway. To make matters worse, a new report from Red State revealed the protestors charged the main Capitol Building, not the Cannon House Building where AOC’s office is located.

Mace said that story is “egregious” and questioned whether there is anything the mainstream media won’t politicize. Additionally, the South Carolina Republican condemned the acts that were carried out in our nation’s Capitol. She emphasized those who were apart of the violence should be held accountable.
