New Hampshire’s governor says a $15 minimum wage would be disastrous for his state.

In an interview Thursday, Gov. Chris Sununu (R-N.H.) slammed Joe Biden’s plan to increase the minimum wage. He said it would cause an inflationary problem.

The governor said if the minimum wage is increased to $15, all wages across the board would have to increase, which could lead to companies going out of business or potential job losses.

“We have such a strong economy, we have some of the highest wages in the country and we have some of the lowest poverty rates in the country,” Sununu stated. “$15 minimum wage throws all of that up in the air. People think it just brings people from $7 to $15, which most businesses couldn’t handle, or would cut hours, especially in a tourism state a seasonal state like New Hampshire. It would be devastating.”

The governor continued to slam the Democrat-led plan, saying “they’re trying to get a political win on something that isn’t a fundamental problem.”
