An Illinois restaurant owner received an unexpected Christmas gift.

Patty Prosen, the owner of Chicago-based Mexican restaurant ‘Que Rico’, was awarded a $15,000 grant from the ‘Barstool Fund’ on Thursday.

The fund supports small businesses that have been impacted by COVID-19.

Prosen shared her financial struggle with Dave Portnoy, the founder of the non-profit organization, and he said he wanted to help. The grant will help Prosen cover the wages of six employees along with other expenses.

In the meantime, Prosen thanked the organization for changing her life and said she doesn’t know what she would do without her restaurant.
