New York City police are on the search for the suspect or suspects in a Saturday afternoon shooting in Brooklyn. According to reports, shots erupted outside a public housing complex. Four people were injured.
The victims are between the ages of 21-to-38 and were taken to local hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries. They’re all expected to survive.
Police said they’re unclear what led up to the shooting, but residents said they heard multiple shots suddenly ring out in the street.
“About six or seven shots going ‘boom, boom, boom…and then… I just seen…a lot of people running like crazy,” a witness said. “And I was like, oh God, let me go downstairs and go see did anybody get hurt? And that’s what I did.”
Police are still searching for any suspects.
Meanwhile, New York City is about to hit a 14-year high in shootings, with around 1,700 gun violence victims recorded in the city as of last week.
