The GOP chairwoman of Arizona’s largest county has resigned from her position.
On Tuesday, Maricopa County Party Chair Rae Chornenky resigned after it was made public that she failed to attend a pre-election ballot machine test.
Republican state legislator Kelly Townsend took to Twitter to reprimand the chair and call for her to step down.
I just found our that Maricopa County GOP Chairman Rae Chornenky failed to show up to certify the Dominion / Machines. For this reason, I call for her resignation, along with her 1st Vice Chair.

The tabulation test is a public event that demonstrates how the voting machines work as well as verifies votes are counted accurately. Townsend said the news came as a surprise to everyone.
“We all expect that every person does the job that they’re required to do, so everyone is shocked that she wasn’t there,” Rep. Kelly Townsend (R-Ariz) stated. “Again, it’s eroding confidence in the election, and it’s very unfortunate and I wish it hadn’t happened.”
The move came as the Trump administration’s lawsuit has accused the county of not properly counting ballots.
