Colorado Governor Jared Polis recently provided an update on his state’s efforts to deal with the coronavirus pandemic. The update was livestreamed Tuesday from Polis’ official Facebook page and featured one of the state’s top epidemiologists, Dr. Rachel Herlihy.
Together, they addressed the upward trend in cases and hospitalizations.
“What’s alarming to me is we have 246 people hospitalized,” stated Polis. “That number isn’t alarming, it’s well within our capacity, what’s alarming is that it’s increased substantially from about 170 to 246 over a two-week period.”
The governor went on to say if the number of cases in Colorado does not decrease, quality care may not be available for all those who need it.
“We want to make sure that quality of care at a hospital is available for all those who need it because, in most cases, it will save their life,” added Polis.
