According to authorities, three Maryland police officers were recently ambushed while responding to a 9-1-1 call.
On Sunday night, officers with the Prince George’s County Police Department arrived on scene to an alleged home invasion when they were met with gunfire from two male suspects.
Rounds were exchanged between law enforcement and the suspects. Officials said all of the officers were struck, but were able to apprehend the attackers.

“A chief’s worst nightmare is to hear that one of his officers has been shot…this evening I received the call that three of my officers were shot, my heart sank,” recounted Interim Chief Hector Velez. “I’m thinking about their families, I’m thinking about their fellow officers and I’m thinking about their community.”
Both suspects are now in custody. Officials confirmed all officers are in stable condition and are expected to make a full recovery.
