President Trump signed an executive order highlighting the administration’s health care initiatives. Monday’s order seeks to improve rural health and expand telehealth access such as virtual doctor visits.
Doctor’s treating patients virtually can now provide services permanently beyond the coronavirus pandemic. Additionally, the order ensures coverage for over 135 services, including physical therapy, mental health counseling, substance abuse treatment and more.
“When the invisible enemy struck our shores, I took immediate action to eliminate regulatory barriers to telehealth, making it easier for patients to consult with doctors from safety and convenience right from there homes,”President Trump stated. “Today, I’m taking action to ensure telehealth is here to stay.”

The order calls for the Department of Health and Human Services to propose the new rules within 60 days to make the changes permanent.
