German demonstrators again gathered in protest against ongoing restrictions due to the coronavirus pandemic. Around 200 protesters reportedly gathered in the city of Frankfurt Saturday, where around 60 people were taken into custody by police.

According to officials, some protesters fought with police and violated official guidelines to prevent the spread of the virus.

Protests against the measures, which were instituted by Chancellor Angela Merkel, have continued for three weekends in a row now.

“I’m here because I believe that we need freedom for each person to be responsible for themselves in Germany,” stated one protester. “We need to show our faces and confirm that each person is responsible for themselves in dealing with this virus.”
