Idaho’s GOP governor, Brad Little, has brought an executive order to light that is meant to regulate voting processes and “ensure Idaho’s voter rolls remain free of non-citizens.”

The “Only Citizens Will Vote Act” was put into order on Tuesday by both Little and Secretary of State Phil McGrane, who hope to “protect election integrity, voter confidence, and the sanctity of voting.”

Little and McGrane pointed out in a press release that Idaho is the first state to fight back against the Biden administration, asserting that the current White House Democrats “erode confidence in elections by seeking to register non-citizens to vote.”

“Idaho already has the most secure elections in the nation, and we’re going to keep it that way,” Governor Little said. “Local county clerks will scrub our voter rolls and make sure Idaho’s elections do not fall prey to the consequences of Biden’s lawless open border.”

The new order will go as follows:

  • The Secretary of State ensures the process of voter registration.
  • The Secretary of State will routinely review Idaho’s voter rolls.
  • The Secretary of State will coordinate with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security to verify citizenship status.
  • The Secretary of State and county clerks will give annual reports on their efforts to prevent and remove non-citizens from Idaho’s voter rolls.
  • State agencies shall not provide voter registration materials to non-citizens.
  • State agencies entering into or renewing contracts with federal agencies or partners must confirm there is no requirement to provide voter registration materials to non-citizens.
