On Monday, on her program, Reid was discussing the way in which Republicans have been reacting to a bipartisan border agreement that former President Donald Trump has expressed opposition to.
However, When Reid shared a video of President Joe Biden discussing border legislation in South Carolina, she made a slip-up and let her true opinions be known.
“If that bill were the law today, I’d shut down the border right now and fix it quickly… And Congress needs to get it done,” Biden said in the clip.
As Biden spoke, Reid could be heard laughing and saying, “–Starting another f**king war,” before the audio on her microphone was quickly cut.
She later apologized on air and described the incident as “behind-the-scenes-chatter.”
“I was chatting during a clip that was playing, and you know, we try to keep this show very PG-13, so I just want to apologize to anyone who was listening to my behind-the-scenes chatter,” she said. “I deeply, deeply apologize for that.”
The clip later began circulating on social media where many users stated that the incident showed “how she really feels about Biden.”
“Wow this Hot Mic Moment! Is this how Joy Reid REALLY feels about Biden?” one X user said.
