Kim Kardashian started out as a reality TV star on Keeping Up With The Kardashians before becoming a mother of four and a wildly successful entrepreneur. She has reached massive success over the years for her many business ventures.
Most recently, she co-founded a clothing label called Skims, which launched a men’s underwear line that is now the official underwear partner of the NBA, WNBA, and USA Basketball.
This is not the first time that GQ has highlighted a woman as part of its annual “Men of the Year” issue. Kardashian joins the ranks of other celebrity women like Jennifer Aniston, Rihanna, and Scarlett Johansson, who have been featured on the cover for the special issue.
Actor Jacob Elordi and rapper Travis Scott were also featured as “Men of the Year” in this year’s issue.
The Skims founder was joined by Kardashian’s mom and manager Kris Jenner and sisters Kourtney and Khloé for the interview, which delved into various subjects such as family, business, her plans to practice law, and reflections on her late father, lawyer Robert Kardashian, who previously represented O.J. Simpson in court before passing away in 2003 from Esophageal cancer.
She also discusses her divorce from Ye, formerly Kanye West, saying she ultimately wants their four kids to be “loved and heard.”
“You want to be sensitive because they’re just kids, and it’s hard to go through no matter what age,” she told the publication. “You have to make sure that you only go to a level that they can understand. It’s okay to show a vulnerable side. You never go to a negative side.”
Her recent appearance on the cover has garnered mixed reactions from a number of users on social media. One user said “I’d like off this planet NOW” after seeing that Kardashian won the coveted spot.
Another social media user expressed their confusion, asking “What happened to us?”
However, others have voiced their support for the reality TV star.
The latest issue of GQ drops on Nov. 28th.
