A portion of a Manhattan parking garage has collapsed, trapping several individuals within.
On Tuesday afternoon, floors of the three-story building located at 57 Ann Street between Nassau Street and William Street reportedly collapsed around 4:15 p.m.
Social media videos show wrecked vehicles and debris rising into the air while yells can be heard coming from within.
Authorities have instructed for the area to be avoided, “due to an emergency response.”
Six personnel were reportedly present, according to fire officials. Four of them were sent to the hospital in a stable state, one declined medical assistance, and one was officially determined dead.
It is reported that NYC Mayor Eric Adams (R-N.Y.) had been briefed about the incident and was head over to the scene of the collapsed parking garage.
FDNY had revealed that at there are at least three civilian injuries.
An investigation is ongoing.
