The White House launched a interagency task force in an effort to confront the recent threat of ransomware attacks. Reports this week said the weekly summits would include the Justice Department, Department of Homeland Security, the State and Treasury Departments, and other agencies.
The task force was created to disrupt cyber criminal groups along with the technology responsible for the attacks. Among their initiatives, the State Department offered up to $10 million for information on suspected cyber criminals.

The Biden administration announced a new website, which offers the public various resources to prevent and combat ransomware attacks. The website features general information on ransomware as well as security tips for individuals and businesses to strengthen their network security. Victims of ransomware who access the site also have the option to report any incidents to federal law enforcement.
This comes as lawmakers and industry professionals have pressured Joe Biden to confront Russia over several recent attacks.
