A second former Trump administration official is running for an open house seat in Texas. Sery Kim, who served as assistant administrator in the Office of Women’s Business Ownership at the Small Business Administration announced her candidacy on Monday.
My parents emptied trash cans and cleaned toilets in Arlington & Ft. Worth to live the #AmericanDream and now their daughter is running for #TX06 Congress. If you still believe in #hardwork #resilience then vote for me on May 1! #serykim #seryfortexas https://t.co/KykuPF84WT

In a campaign video, Kim highlighted her family’s journey immigrating to the U.S. from South Korea when she was a child. She said Texas is where she learned the value of sacrifice and hard work. The Republican candidate also painted herself as a political outsider determined to take on the establishment.
“Texans deserve a representative who will go to Washington D.C. and fight against big government, stop the political games and work day and night to protect this great state,” Kim stated. “I’m ready to take the fight to Washington D.C., but the question is, are they ready for me?”
Kim is entering a crowded 2022 primary for the seat of the late GOP Congressman Ron Wright, who represented Texas’ sixth congressional district.
