Second Lady Karen Pence made a trip to Pennsylvania to discuss President Trump’s efforts to improve mental health for Americans. She spoke at a roundtable outside the Veteran Affairs Medical Center in Philadelphia om Thursday.
Mrs. Pence focused on the President’s recent executive order addressing mental and behavioral health needs as well as preventing suicide. She also talked about her role as the lead ambassador for PREVENTS and the importance of prioritizing mental health.

“What we want to do and really if there was one thing I could do as Second Lady, if I could help reduce the stigma surrounding mental health — that’s what we want to do,” she stated. “I’d like to say all the time, it’s okay to say you’re not okay.”

President Trump’s executive order established a cabinet-level team to assess the needs of vulnerable groups of Americans, especially those impacted by COVID-19.
