Let us not lose sight of the fact that President Trump was very clear on the issue of suspension of immigration and extreme vetting throughout his campaign. While many of the points of his campaign may have been controversial, throughout the primaries and general election, he was very clear on his positions. While these positions may have been contrary to his opponents during the primary election, Trump beat all 16 of his primary opponents, handily, demonstrating that throughout the primary process, a far greater number of conservatives agreed with those positions than disagreed with them.
Similarly, throughout the General election, President Trump once again did not soften on any of these issues in an attempt to pander to moderates or liberals for votes. He continued to consistently be quite clear on these positions, which were determined even at that time to be a hard stance, and in spite of his taking such a hard stance, he STILL won the General election as well.
It would seem to me, that having been dead clear on his stance on the issues, that Trump was elected president by The People. His positions are NOT the positions of 1 man acting as a renegade. His positions for the first time, may in fact be more consistent with the intent of the Constitution from the time of our founders, in that he is acting as a REPRESENTATIVE of The People, and NOT as dictator of policy.
After all, for the first time in many many years, an elected official has actually done, what he was elected to do.
I, for one, have no second thoughts whatsoever to his actions. For the first time in 8 years, and possibly 28 years, a President is doing exactly as I believe he should do, and what I believe to be in the best interest of our Constitutional Republic, and am satisfied that the will of The People has been heard.
In time honored tradition, this was put legally and properly forth to the American People to decide. While many radical left wing extremists may be out protesting against these actions, the President, legally elected in accordance with the terms of the Constitution, by The People, is acting consistent to the will of The People that put him in
office. His actions have been taken legally in accordance with laws and procedures, many of which were enacted by a Democrat controlled House and Senate, which at the time drew no opposition from the very same people that oppose it today.
For quite some time the media has chosen to use a magnifying glass on issues that support its corporate owners agendas in an attempt to make it appear as if general support for those issues was greater than it was. This had the effect of stifling opposition to those policies, much like artificially generated polls are designed to imply the will of a majority.
Unfortunately for those that were persuaded to believe that their will was the majority will, it has come as a hard shock that an actual count at the voting booths has shown that they have been in gross misconception of that belief, and that the “tiny minority” that they disagreed with, was in fact far far greater than both sides had been lead to believe by a distorted corporate media.
This has resulted in a substantial case of cognitive dissonance that many of those far left leaning people are having difficulty coping with, in the face of a sharp dose of reality. Consequently, they are failing to see that they are, in fact, being quite INTOLERANT, of the views and opinions of their very own fellow Americans that share this great nation along side them.
