Trump brought up his 5-year-old granddaughter, Carolina Trump, as well as his 7-year-old grandson, Luke Trump.

Luke and Carolina are the children of Eric and Lara Trump.

“We also have… a very important member of my family. Far more important than Eric or Lara,” Trump joked to the Wilmington audience. “And her name is Carolina.”

Trump continued, glancing over at his staff in order to make sure that it was okay to bring his granddaughter up to the podium.

“And she’s beautiful and she’s sweet and she doesn’t know how evil life is,” he told the crowd. “Can I ask Carolina to come up? Is that possible?”

A few moments later, Trump was seen embracing Carolina in his arms, accompanied by a cheering crowd.

“Make America great again,” Carolina said, after being allowed by her grandfather to speak into the microphone.

Following Carolina’s moment on stage, Trump asked the crowd “Would anyone like to meet Luke, her brother?” to which the crowd cheered, chanting Luke’s name as he walked on stage.

Soon after, Luke jumped in Trump’s arms and told the crowd, “Vote for grandpa,” which prompted “Awwws” throughout the crowd.

Trump’s light hearted banter continued after Luke walked off the stage, telling the crowd he had asked Luke, his grandson, to say “MAGA.”

“I whispered into his ear, so cute, I said, ‘Say MAGA,’ he said ‘Vote for grandpa’ he didn’t care what I said, and that was actually much better right?” Trump asked the crowd, before moving on to the rest of his speech.

During the speech, Trump expressed the importance of winning North Carolina, an important swing state, stating: “Exactly 45 days from now, we’re going to win North Carolina. We’re going to defeat Kamala Harris, and we’re going to make America great again.”
