The Republican Party has officially nominated Donald Trump as their presidential nominee for the 2024 election.

On Monday, Trump was announced as the official presidential nominee at the Republican National Convention (RNC) after securing enough delegates during the roll-call vote of states.

The 45^th president announced on Truth Social that Senator J.D. Vance (R-Ohio.) will be joining him on the ticket as his running mate in the race.

This comes two days after a 20-year-old attempted to assassinate Trump at his Pennsylvania rally. Thomas Matthew Crooks, the person who shot Trump, was killed by a sniper. The former President luckily only suffered minor injuries as the bullet grazed his right ear.

He is expected to speak at the RNC later this week.
