Utah Senator Mitt Romney says President Joe Biden should have pardoned his predecessor before the Department of Justice (DOJ) began prosecuting him.

Romney (R-Utah) made the comment during an interview with MSNBC on Wednesday. He also stated that Biden made an error in not urging Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg to drop his case against Donald Trump.
Romney noted that Biden should have “fought like crazy” to keep Bragg from moving forward. The failed presidential candidate called the so-called hush money case a win-win for Trump.
The retiring senator also pointed out that none of the federal cases against Trump are likely to wrap up before the general election.
“Had I been President Biden, when the Justice Department brought out indictments, I would have immediately pardoned him. I’d have pardoned President Trump. Why?” Romney asked. “Well, because it makes me, President Biden, the big guy and the person I pardoned, the little guy.”
Romney also suggested that Americans are concerned with bigger issues than Trump’s trial, such as inflation, the border and America’s involvement in the world.
