Billionaire entrepreneur Reid Hoffman has given a $250,000 donation to Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley’s campaign.

The co-founder of LinkedIn and a widely known Democrat donor made the announcement in hopes of stopping Donald Trump from taking back the White House.

In a recent post on LinkedIn, Hoffman said that he would “enthusiastically vote” for President Joe Biden next November, but he also said the “first priority is American democracy and the integrity of our legal system.”

“That means my first priority is to defeat Trump, and the primary is the first of two chances to do so,” he added.

The donation comes as Haley (R-S.C.) and three other potential candidates square off in their fourth debate Wednesday night in Alabama. The participants include Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R-Fla.), former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie (R-N.J.) and entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy.

DeSantis’ campaign has already begun using the donation by Hoffman as ammo, accusing Haley of being a liberal.

Recently, JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon recently said Democrats should support Haley, a comment that Hoffman was in support of. “Those of us who believe in America must link arms to block Donald Trump from regaining the White House,” Hoffman said in his post. “America needs both major parties to nominate sane people who will honor their oath of office.”

Additionally, Hoffman has said he disagrees with Haley on certain policies but says he sees Haley as “the only Republican … other than Trump with any chance” of winning the GOP’s nod.

Haley is looking to close the wide gap between Trump and the rest of the GOP field.

In the latest polls Trump has a dominating lead, garnering 61% of the support to become the Republican nominee.
