On Wednesday, tempers were high as the candidates lit each other up on the debate stage.

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis took shots at Donald Trump who decided on forgoing the debate and instead hosted a campaign rally in the city of Hialeah.

“He owes it to you to be on this stage and explain why he should get another chance,” DeSantis said. “He should explain why he didn’t have Mexico pay for the border wall. He should explain why he racked up so much debt. He should explain why he didn’t drain the swamp. And he said Republicans were going to get tired of winning. Well, we saw last night, I’m sick of Republicans losing.”

Additionally, tensions boiled over as Nikki Haley sparred with Vivek Ramaswamy over his use of TikTok.

Ramaswamy reminded Haley that her own daughter uses the Chinese owned app, while also calling her and DeSantis “Dick Cheney in three-inch heels.”

“Do you want a leader from a different generation is going to put this country first or do you want Dick Cheney in three-inch heels?” Ramaswamy questioned. “In which case we’ve got two of them on stage tonight.”

However, after the initial jabs, all of the candidates found unity in their support of Israel, with many of them highlighting their foreign policy agendas.

“I was the first presidential can[didate] to say, ‘if you are here on a student visa as a foreign national, (and) you’re making common cause with Hamas, I’m canceling your visa and I’m sending you home,’” DeSantis stated. “No questions asked.”

“You actually have to cut off the head of the snake,” Senator Tim Scott (R-S.C.) said. “And the head of the snake is Iran and not simply their proxies.”

“Anti-Semitism is just as awful as racism,” Haley said. “And we’ve got to make sure they’re protected. And for everybody that’s protesting on these college campuses in favor of Hamas, let me remind you of something. Hamas said, death to Israel and death to America. They hate and would kill you, too.”

Additionally, both Haley and DeSantis voiced an understanding of Democrat states supporting abortion in spite of opposition from the GOP.

Haley lamented over divisive politicians driving a wedge between Americans on the issue.

“What I’ll tell you is, as as much as I’m pro-life, I don’t judge anyone for being pro-choice and I don’t want them to judge me for being pro-life,” Haley said.

“We’re better off when everybody counts,” DeSantis said. “We’re better off when we can promote a culture of life. At the same time, I understand that some of these states are doing it a little bit different.”

In the meantime, the latest five-thirty-eight poll still shows Donald Trump leading the pack with over 56% of support from would be voters.
