Since the franchise was established in 1961, the Texas Rangers are finally able to call themselves World Series champions.

The Rangers defeated the Arizona Diamondbacks 5-0 on Wednesday at Chase Field, in Phoenix, to bring home the teams first championship in its 63-year history.
The Rangers won the series in five games but their first title did not come easy.
The game was scoreless through six innings, with Arizona’s pitcher Zac Gallen throwing a no-hitter until the sixth inning.
However, in the seventh inning Texas was able to get hits off Gallen and scored the game’s first run.
In the top of the ninth inning with a 1-0 lead, the Rangers were able to score some insurance runs. They scored four more runs, which was highlighted by a Marcus Semien two-run home run to give the Rangers a 5-0 lead.
“Man, this is the biggest moment,” an emotional Semien told Fox Sports when asked about his home run. “Just felt so good. Just looked over at the bench (and) screamed. Just an unbelievable feeling. I know I keep saying that word, but just to run the bases knowing that we are that much closer felt great.”
The Rangers were unbeaten on the road in the postseason, going 11-0 away from home in their postseason run.
Rangers shortstop Corey Seager was the best player throughout the MLB playoff. He was named World Series Most Valuable Player (MVP), becoming the fourth player ever to win two World Series MVP awards.
“I’m just happy to be a part of this team,” Seager said while accepting his award. “The resilience of this group, just the fight, the fight is what it is.”
With the World Series title, Rangers manager Bruce Bochy became the sixth manager to win at least four World Series championships.
“I was sitting on a recliner there in Nashville, just enjoying myself, when he called me,” Bochy said when asked about when Rangers General Manager Chris Young contacted him about getting back into the game. “I’m so honored by these guys. They inspire me with how resilient they’ve been, but to get this call and be part of this, I know how blessed I am. I can’t thank these guys enough.”
The Rangers appeared in two World Series before this year, losing back to back in 2010 and 2011.
With the title, now only five teams in the MLB have not won a World Series. This includes the Colorado Rockies, Milwaukee Brewers, Seattle Mariners, Tampa Bay Rays and the San Diego Padres.
