Iran’s foreign minister Hossein Amir-Abdallahian shared the startling message after more than hundreds of people died in a missile strike at a Gaza city hospital, which the Jewish State claimed was due to a failed rocket launch by the Palestinian Islamic Jihad militant group.
“After the terrible crime of the Zionist regime in the bombing and massacre of more than 1,000 innocent women and children in the hospital, the time has come for the global unity of humanity against this fake regime more hated than ISIS and its killing machine,” Amir-Abdollahian tweeted.
After the attack, Hezbollah, the Iranian-backed terrorist group based in Lebanon, called for “a day of unprecedented anger” against Israel.
Additionally, Libya’s foreign ministry accused Israel of “war crimes and genocide.”
The uprising from the terrorist groups comes after Amir-Abdollian warned that a regional network of militias dubbed the “axis of resistance” would open “multiple fronts” against Israel if it continued to kill civilians in Gaza.
“Time is running out very fast,” Amir-Abdollahian said during a live televised interview with Iranian state television Monday night, according to the New York Times.
According to Israeli Defense Forces, the hospital strike was caused by a misfire by Hamas targeted at Israel.
“An enemy rocket barrage was carried out towards Israel, which passed in the vicinity of the hospital when it was hit,” IDF spokesperson Daniel Hagari said in a statement.
“According to intelligence information, from several sources we have, the GAP organization is responsible for the failed shooting that hit the hospital.”
According to experts, if Iran gets involved with the war, it could bring Russia into the conflict, which could cause a Third World War.
Meanwhile, Russian officials have been outspoken on the hospital attack, with a spokeswoman for Russia’s foreign ministry saying that Israel must provide satellite images to prove they were not involved, according to the Daily Mail.
“So far, Russia and China have remained relatively restrained in their public statements, but if Iran gets directly involved, Russia is likely to feel compelled to support it due to Iran providing important missile and UAV supplies and training support to the Russian military in its war against Ukraine,” Justin Bronk, a senior research fellow at London‘s Royal United Services Institute, explained in an essay for the Daily Mail.
Since the war started, at least 3,000 Palestinians and 1,400 Israelis have been killed, according to the Wall Street Journal.
