When Bryan Kohberger entered the packed Latah County courtroom in Moscow, Idaho, he was dead silent. When the judge asked him how he pleaded, he continued to stand still and remain silent, in which case the judge entered a not guilty plea on the defendant’s behalf.

He only spoke up after being prompted by the judge, responding either “yes” or “yes, I do.”

The 28-year-old was indicted on charges of felony burglary and four counts of first-degree murder. He is accused of stabbing and killing Madison Mogen, 21, Kaylee Goncalves, 21, Xana Kernodle, 20, and Ethan Chapin, 20, during the early hours of November 13th, 2022.

A trial date has been set for October 2nd. Kohberger’s attorney believes that it will be a four-to-six week trial.
