The gubernatorial race in New Jersey is still too close to call with Republican Jack Ciattarelli just behind incumbent Democrat Phil Murphy. According to Politico, Ciattarelli is behind by less than 30,000 votes with 90 percent of the vote tabulated. This puts Murphy the furthest ahead he’s been since counting began.
Ciattarelli has flipped counties Murphy won four years ago and Joe Biden won just a year ago to keep it too close to call. If Murphy can maintain his edge over Ciattarelli, he will buck a 44-year long trend of the Garden State’s, which is not re-electing Democrats.
Meanwhile, the Republican Party of New Jersey called out mainstream media for claiming election “victory” for incumbent Murphy. In a statement on Wednesday, the GOP said it’s irresponsible of the media to proclaim a winner in a race where ballots are still being counted and the margin is less than 1 percent.
The candidates are separated by a FRACTION of a % out of 2.4 million ballots cast.
It’s irresponsible of the media to make this call when the New Jersey Secretary of State doesn’t even know how many ballots are left to be counted.
We will fight for every single legal vote.

Republicans added, the New Jersey secretary of state admitted she does not know how many ballots have yet to be counted. Murphy was proclaimed the winner by multiple media outlets, including Fox News, with a margin of some 20,000 votes when more than 370,000 ballots hadn’t been counted.
New Jersey Republicans stressed they will fight for every single legal vote. This comes as government watchdog group Project Veritas released undercover footage of gubernatorial election workers allowing a self-proclaimed non-citizen to still cast a vote in the election despite him admitting that he was not registered to vote.

The RNC is sending 20 lawyers to New Jersey as the vote count continues in the state’s gubernatorial election. On Wednesday, the New jersey GOP said the RNC legal team will help the campaign of Jack Ciattarelli make sure the election is free and fair.
“RNC deploys 20 lawyers to NJ as counting continues”
Every legal vote will be counted & our election integrity team (the largest such team ever assembled) will be scrutinizing the process to ensure that’s the case & that we get @Jack4NJ elected Governor https://t.co/EpQOZvhnxf

Garden State Republicans said they are prepared to go to court over any potential irregularities or violations in the voting and counting process.
Ciattarelli said the GOP has already gained at least six seats in the State Assembly as well as several Senate seats and he expects to become governor. Ciattarelli and Murphy are locked in a dead heat race amid a massive surge in GOP voting in the state.
