The pregnant widow of fallen Marine Rylee McCollum has been set to receive a free home through the Tunnel to Towers foundation. In an interview with Breitbart on Saturday, the group’s chairman Frank Siller said he hoped to help other families going through what his family went through when his brother died.
Tunnel to Towers was founded by Siller after the 9/11 attacks, during which his firefighter brother died in New York City when the building collapsed as he attempted to get people to safety. Siller said the families of anybody killed in the recent attack in Kabul would qualify for a home.
“We’re paying off the mortgages and building mortgage free homes for Gold Star families and that includes any of the 13 who left behind a young family,” he said. “We do know one of them had his wife is pregnant and will be giving birth shortly. We’re gonna build her a mortgage free house.”
Today, #Tunnel2Towers celebrates the contributions of workers to our country and recognize the men and women who help build mortgage-free homes for our #GoldStar Family Home Program and #SmartHome Program recipients. Happy #LaborDay! pic.twitter.com/P5FyTqMmfr

Sillar also hailed all 13 U.S. service members lost in the attack in Kabul as American heroes. Rylee McCollum’s sister said he was very excited to become a father and was going to be a great dad.
