An investigation is underway after a house fire in Maryland left three children dead. Fire fighters responded to the scene on Monday in Prince George’s County.
According to reports, emergency crews transported two of the three children to a hospital where they later died from their injuries. One was pronounced dead the scene.

Officials confirmed all three victims were under the age of 12-years-old.
“We have three fatalities and all of the lives lost here are under the age of 12, so this is an extremely difficult situation,” expressed Jennifer Donelan of Prince George’s County Fire. “…Our thoughts and prayers right now are focused on the family and making sure they’re supported.”
Officials went on to report three other occupants who were able to evacuate the town home before fire crews arrived. Meanwhile, the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
